Our Camping Adventure

The weather channel called for rain, lows of 26, and possible snow, but we decided to give it a try anyway. We are very excited about all the camping gear we have now. It is so nice how easy tents are to set up now-a-days! Dennis packed the car up and here we are at White Horse Lake just south of Williams Arizona.

Here is our 10 person tent! We've spoiled ourselves with all the room. Hopefully we don't feel any need to have a larger one when more kids come around.

The boys are smiling at their daddy, of course!

Here we go!

It was beautiful, and we highly recommend it. Let us know if you know of any other good spots around here!!

I love my boys!

After a FREEZING cold night, hearing the coyotes going crazy, worrying about the boys, and having Tanner have a horrible nights sleep, we were quite skeptical about staying another night. Dennis turned the car radio on and it said there was a snow advisory for us from 6pm Thursday to 6pm Saturday. The high on Friday was only going to be 46. Needless to say, that was the kicker. We are still very bummed out, but we decided to go next weekend when the temp is a good 20-30 degrees warmer. I figure we're try to stick it out when the kids are older. No sense in catching some sickness with a 1 and 2.5 yr old! Cody picked out his own chair and he loved it!! It was the perfect size too.

Tanner was a daddy's boy the WHOLE time!

Both Dennis and Cody set up rods while I watched Tanner. The fish were biting immediately. Dennis and Cody reeled this one in. Cody was soooo excited! So excited that . . .

. . . he fell in the lake before they could even get the hook out of the fish's mouth. The fish broke the line and is now swimming around with a hook. Cody kept saying, "I didn't want to go in the fishy water. The fishy water is yucky! I fell in the fishy water, Mommy. I sorry I fell in the fishy water!" He was so cute! As I quickly changed him, he was soooo sad that now we had to leave because the clouds were rolling in. We promised to take him fishing again on Tuesday, when the weather warms up.

Poor thing!

The boys loved playing in the tent.

Cody in his new, dry clothes. We got everything but the tent in the car before it started snowing. Now we have to figure out how to dry it out for next weekend.

Oh my gosh they are fantastic pictures!! I laughed until my tummy hurt. I love your tent, Cody's chair, and the smile on the boy's faces sitting in the tent. Poor Cody to go from having such an exciting moment of catching a fish to the scarines of falling in the lake. He looks so pitiful and wet and then back to happy again when he's dry. I love the comment about the fishy water, how sweet! Maybe next weekend will be better.

Poor Cody. I bet he was so sad when he fell in. I am glad to see they had a good time and rolled with the punches. We can't wait to get our camping gear out this year.
